Plans for 2023 - Temperature quilt (and cross stitch)

My curiosity was peaked about a year ago when I started seeing temperature quilts and cross stitches appearing on my social media feeds. For those of you wondering what I'm talking about it is where you use a simple 2- colour fabric quilt block or 2 colour thread cross stitching pattern over the course of a whole year (or however long you want) to track the high and low temperatures of each day in a given location.

I'm going to tackle a quilt and Fleur my business partner is going to do a cross stitch. We intend to keep you posted via our social media channels on our progress which will hold us accountable if we start to fall behind.

I've read an inspiring blog from Moda fabrics on the topic of Temperature quilts Intro to Temperature Quilts | modafabrics.com with some examples of different ways to go about the construction. The example of using flying geese as the basic quilt block (where the goose is the high temperature and the surrounding background triangles are the low temperatures) is tickling my fancy. I'll be using Bella Solids as my fabric and will update you on the colour selections next week.
