About: Learn the basics of making a tote bag, including positioning and adding straps, stitching interior and exterior pieces in correct sequence and then turning inside out and finishing techniques. Once you have mastered these skills, you'll be ready to move onto more complicated tote bag patterns with additional features.

We will accept non-sewers in this class, as we will spend the time to teach you how to set up and operate your machine if required and hopefully by the end of the day you will be able to use it un-assisted. (We welcome ‘helpers’ to attend as well if the sewer would prefer some moral support!)

Materials included:

  • 50cm Outer material *participants will select their fabric on arrival.
  • 50cm Inner material
  • 0.25cm pocket material
  • 1m of 1" Twill tape for handles

Participants will need to bring:

  • Sewing machine
  • Scissors
  • Pins
