I've just completed my second ever free BOM and I've even completed the top ready to be quilted. It's A Quilting Life's (Sherri McConnell) BOM and I highly rate it.
I think most people would be aware that I like bright quilts and the fabrics that Sherri and Chelsi (Sherri's daughter) create under the Sherri and Chelsi brand are some of my favourites. So, combine the fabric with the monthly pattern you receive, and you end up with the quilt top pictured. I've used their Emma range, which is over a year old now, but I had a fat quarter bundle that I had hardly used for another project, so I was determined to use it up.
What is great is the monthly patterns that usually come out on the first Monday of every month are easy to read, have great instructions and there is usually a YouTube clip that you can watch to get any other tips plus you get to see the block finished. They also offer a few different colourways - usually with their recent fabric ranges. As their ranges usually have a similar colour palette you could even mix and match different ranges.
So, I'm planning on doing the 2024 BOM and will be using Strawberry Lemonade their newest fabric range which should be here in Australia in January. We will be stocking the entire range, and I cannot wait to see it in person. I have included Sherri McConnell's latest blog post so you can see for yourselves what you can expect.
